Deathly Hallows Part One: Delerium

Still up. Still thinking about Deathly Hallows Part One. It was incredible. It felt like they had to scramble to fit so many details about the Horcruxes into the movie so they could have the plot established for Part 2, but it was still great. Now, I am obviously quite tired and would like to make a legitimate post about this in the next few days, but this will have to do for now.

Favorite part(s): They used so many great lines that came straight from the text. The mere fact that they included the “Holey” joke from George made me unnaturally giddy.

Least favorite part: Ron’s return was absolute shit. It felt like he had just stepped out for a weekend, returning with a joke and continuing with the journey. That was supposed to be weeks/months of sadness. They also deviated from the text in the exchange between Ron and Harry about why Dumbledore gave Ron the Deluminator- they downplayed one of the deepest moments in the whole Horcrux Camping Trip. Boo.

A longer and more coherent response to Part One will be up in a few days. I think.
